My family, the Gordon and Chevalier families, originates from the small Creole town of Arnaudville, in the heart of the 337 where the culture is rich, the music is zydeco, and the bayous and swamps have long shaped the way people live, gather, and cook. Along the waters of South Louisiana, food has always been more than a meal, it’s a way of preserving family, heritage, and community.

From an early age, I was surrounded by the rich aromas of Creole cooking in the kitchens of the women who shaped me most. I learned beside my Granny, Aunt Angela, and my mother, watching their hands move with experience, care, and soul. Their cooking taught me that true Creole food is about patience, seasoning, and feeding people from the heart. I can still remember my Granny and her sisters, my Great Aunt Ola and Great Aunt Tut, speaking Creole in the kitchen while they cooked, laughed, and shared stories passed down through generations. Those moments carried the warmth of family and the spirit of Louisiana tradition, and they continue to inspire every meal we prepare today.

Today, my food is a celebration of those generations before us. Every meal reflects the flavors of Arnaudville, the spirit of Creole cooking, and the traditions lovingly passed down from kitchen to kitchen. It’s an honor to share the flavors of my heritage with you, and my hope is that every visit leaves you feeling the warmth, love, and sense of family that inspired it all.
